Guardsmen and Civilian Employees:
Ongoing reviews within the DOD reveal a culture of insufficient operations security (OPSEC) practices and habits that have the potential to increase security vulnerabilities and create unnecessary risks to our national security. Therefore, the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) has initiated a campaign for the MANDATORY training requirement related to strengthening OPSEC and preventing unauthorized disclosures of critical and sensitive information. As part of that campaign, ALL DOD personnel are directed to complete OPSEC training, and MUST complete this training by 31 DEC 2020.
All personnel in the Indiana National Guard are required to take this training, including:
INSTRUCTIONS - COMPLETE 1-3 BELOW
1. Review and study each PDF below:
2. View the video below, “SECDEF OPSEC Campaign 2020 w/music”:
3. Once you have completed 1 and 2 above, notify your immediate supervisor of the completion.
It is upon each of us to exercise caution with all classified, controlled unclassified, and other related information to prevent unauthorized disclosures. By furthering your understanding of how to protect information at all levels, this OPSEC training will help you do your part to protect national security and the security of your fellow Guardsmen.
Thank you for all you do for the Indiana National Guard, the state of Indiana, and the United States of America.
