Mandatory OPSEC Training -- ALL UNITS -- By 31 Dec. 2020

Guardsmen and Civilian Employees:

Ongoing reviews within the DOD reveal a culture of insufficient operations security (OPSEC) practices and habits that have the potential to increase security vulnerabilities and create unnecessary risks to our national security. Therefore, the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) has initiated a campaign for the MANDATORY training requirement related to strengthening OPSEC and preventing unauthorized disclosures of critical and sensitive information. As part of that campaign, ALL DOD personnel are directed to complete OPSEC training, and MUST complete this training by 31 DEC 2020.

All personnel in the Indiana National Guard are required to take this training, including:

  • Service members
  • Civilians, including federal and state employees, and contractors
