Keith Morris speaks at seminar, large bunch of balloons in backgroundMr. Keith Morris and Dr. Amanda Wickett-Curtis were guest speakers at the JFHQ-sponsored seminar marking Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Col. Ross Waltemath, Director of Civil Affairs for the Indiana National Guard also proved an efffective presenter on being pro-active and protective of fellow Soldiers, Airmen, and civilians in the workplace.

Water bucket lowered from helicopter into lakeAs light-hearted as it sounds, training with "bambi buckets" is deadly serious. Aviation Soldiers from Shelbyville trained in the classroom to understand concepts of weight-load effects on helicopters, then took to the blackhawks for hands-on training. The water buckets, known as bambi buckets, are lowered into bodies of water for fill, then transported to fire emergencies, such as forest fires.

Building 5 main entrance at Stout FieldWhat a building; what a history. Families of Brig. Gen. Daniel Wray DePrez, and Brig. Gen. Oliver H. Stout and 1st Lt. Richard Stout were among honored guests as this airfield observation building was rededicated, once again a mainstay of Stout Field activities and administration.

Helping students at Stout Field Elementary maximize their potential by increasing their abilities in reading skills is at the heart of the HOSTS (Helping One Student To Succeed) program. Mentors meet with "their" students once a week, working on rough spots with them, and leading them in learning games.

Indiana National Guard Col. Todd TownsendColonel Todd Townsend moved into the newly-created position of Indiana National Guard Vice Chief of Staff after more than three years as commander of Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center. Colonel Ivan Denton took over the reigns as commander in a March 12 ceremony.
