Commission report provides opportunities to strengthen the Total Army

 The National Commission on the Future of the Army, chaired by retired Gen. Carter Ham, released its recommendations Jan. 28 on how the Army should best organize and employ the Total Force at a time of declining resources—and proceed with the transfer all Apache attack helicopters (AH-64s) from the Army National Guard to the Regular Army, as one part of the Army’s broader Aviation Restructure Initiative (ARI).

INDIANAPOLIS – Required periodic industrial health surveys have identified potential lead dust contamination in some ARNG Readiness Centers, also known as armories. This dust is residue from our former indoor firing ranges and on-going weapons cleaning, maintenance, movement, storage, other maintenance operations, or outside environmental factors. As training requirements have changed, indoor firing ranges (IFRs) have been decommissioned and converted to other uses.
