Social Media and the Indiana National Guard

Are you a site or page administrator, setting up a facebook page or other
Social Media site for your unit or group?  

 

What do I do first?

First, register your site at either the Department of Defense  http://socialmedia.defense.gov/

Special Note: Anyone who manages an "external official presence" on social media is required to take the two training modules below and submit the certificates to your state OPSEC manager DOD Information Assurance Awareness Training Social Networking

Then what?

Then register your site with the Indiana National Guard

How?

The administrator should download the following and be familiar with the Directive Type Memorandum and Army Social Media SOP and complete the OPSEC course.  Also, make them available to the unit commander.

Then, the commander and each administrator should each sign a separate Social Media Responsibility Agreement  (if more than one person will be administrators on the site, each person must sign a separate agreement)

Send or email all signature documents to the social media POC for the Indiana Guard (when you complete the Indiana online registration form below, there is an upload field which allows you to submit these signed agreements as scanned documents directly if you prefer)

And then?

After signing the user agreement, complete the online Indiana Registration Form, registering your site name with the Indiana Guard OR

complete the hard copy Indiana Registration Form, and email or send to the Social Media POC, registering your site name with the Indiana Guard

Your site will be reviewed for compliance, then posted to the links page on this public site
